Uconnect is programmed for your cellular phone only. Your PIN is your very own. All calls from Uconnect will show on your celluar phone bill. Always keep your bluetooth permanently ON in your cellular otherwise there is no syn between Uconnect and your cellular phone. You can keep you cellular phone in the car, in the purse, in the back seat for Uconnect to work.

 

There are two buttons for Uconnect

the right one is [phone] used to turn on the Uconnect

the left one is [voice recognition] used to pick a name from Uconnect when it says the name

 

Uconnect start by pressing the [phone] button on the radio. Uconnect confirms with Ready and a beep.

 

Tips on great Voice Recognition

  1. when you start your car wait about 5 second to start using Uconnect
  2. always wait for beep before speaking
  3. speak normally without pausing like you were talking to someone 8 feet away
  4. make sure no other person is talking when you are giving commands
  5. fan is low to medium
  6. vehicle speed is low to medium
  7. low noise and smooth road
  8. windows are closed so there is no wind noise
  9. dry weather conditions
  10. don’t store similar sounding names like rina or mina, ham or sam, mike or pike
  11. say OH for the letter O, ZERO for the number 0, and EIGHT ZERO ZERO for 800
  12. speak from driver seat, see microphone above

VOICE TRAINING use only if Uconnect doesn’t understand your voice

            Press and hold [voice recognition] for 5 seconds until you hear system prompt

 

Dial by saying a number:  (area code and phone number)

DIAL, system prompt, recite  the number (SIX, ONE, THREE, ….)

 

Call by saying a name:

CALL, system prompt, say the name.

 

Adding Name to Phonebook: (32 names with 4 disgnations each name)

PHONEBOOK NEW ENTRY, system prompt, say the name of new entry, system prompt, say the designation (home, work, mobile, cottage, girlfiend, mothers home, …), system prompt, recite new  number.

 

Edit name in Phonebook:

PHONEBOOK EDIT, system prompt, say name, enter designation, system prompt, recite new number,

 

Delete name in Phonebook:

            PHONEBOOK DELETE, system prompt,  then either

= say name, system prompt, say designation

= LIST NAMES, press [voice recognition] when you hear the name, say DELETE, system prompt, say designation

 

Delete all names in Phonebook:

            PHONEBOOK ERASE ALL,system prompt,

 

List all names in Phonebook:

PHONEBOOK LIST NAMES, system will play names, press [voice recognition] to call name desired name, CALL

 

Answer an incoming call –no current call in progress

            When you receive a call, Uconnect will ask if you want to answer the call, either

            =press [phone] button to accept

            =press and hold [phone] button until you hear a single beep

 

Answer an incoming call –current call in progress

            When you receive a call, Uconnect will ask if you want to answer the call, either

            =to answer press [phone] button to place current call on hold and answer incoming call

            =to ignore do nothing to reject the incoming call

 

Place Call on Hold

            To hold Press the [phone button] to place on hold

            To return to call Press and hold the [phone button] until you hear a beep

 

Call Termination

            Momentarily press the [phone button]

Redial

            REDIAL, will redial last number from Uconnect, if not then last one from your cellular

 

Call continuation (after ignition key is switched to off) one of three options

            =Call continues on Uconnect until car battery gets low

            =Call continues on Uconnect for a certain duration then transfers to cellular phone

            =Call is automatically transferred to cellular phone

 

EMERGENCY one of two things happen depending in which country

            =in Canada pick up cellular phone and dial 911

            =in US press [phone], system prompt, EMERGENCY

 

TOWING ASSISTANCE

            [phone], system prompt, TOWING ASSISTANCE

 

Working with automated systems (paging, voicemail)

            Make the call as you would normally do, [voice recognition] ,say numeric imput, SEND

            Example if your code is 1234, the you would [voice recognition] ONE TWO THREE FOUR SEND

 

MUTE they cannot hear you but you can hear them

            To mute [voice recognition] MUTE

            To unmute [voice recognition] MUTE OFF

 

Transfer call to from cellular

            [voice recognition] TRANFER CALL
